I was in the mood for painting something this weekend.
When I am not in a break from university or work, I usually have a hard time to get something out of myself, artistically speaking. However, I was in a somewhat melancholic mood and I needed to vent, if I can say so. In the process, I realized that no matter how drained and tired I am, I will paint rather easily when I have emotions that need to get out of me and the sole action of painting something is therefore making me feel more serene.
When the painting will be finished, I will hang it on a wall in my bedroom where it will be kept semi-private. The vast majority of you are better painters than me, and I know better than to place my work in a spot where everybody will see it. In my case, the actual process of getting a painting done is more important than the finished result and any artistic merit it might have.
I often find the same serenity in painting.. It is amazing to feel though your brush.. People often ask what style I paint in .. I paint in feelings.. just for me.. Artistic merit aside.. it is therapudic..

Although I mainly paint to express feelings, I really would like to improve my skills. I have bought a book to do so.
