So, when I first put my website online, this past August, I thought that I had arrived, so to speak, and that I was done with my website until I would retire. How wrong I was!
It didn’t take long that modifications were needed to clear some misunderstandings that people might have about me. I had to modify my picture gallery and extend my questions page. I remade my banners a couple of times to make them more attractive. I recently changed the graphical elements’ font and I have added an alternate text-links-based navigation system. Then, as if it wasn’t enough, I am thinking about changing the entire design and get new pictures. Why all of this? I want to have a better website, even though I have received many positive comments on it. Why is it that what seemed acceptable and professional to me a while ago could now use some improvement? Will I ever stop?
I might not. According to some researchers, the quest to reaching one’s goal is more stimulating than the result, so does my website truly needs to be improved or is it just my human nature who thinks so?
I am even thinking about creating a website in php. Is it necessary? Not at all, but it would offer me an excuse for me to learn this programming language that could be useful for other endeavours. My webhosting company has put a lot of php tools to my disposition and many of them seem very useful for website management. I might even move my blog on my website, but first I will have to look out for effective ways to prevent spamming.
To watch my website closely and to see how it is a works of art in constant evolution is a neverending learning process in itself, and this is what makes it stimulating and interesting. It takes a lot of time and energy to take care of everything, but I wouldn’t delegate those tasks to anybody.

How silly of me, I posted this same post on an entry from last year, not realizing it was not a current entry for you! lol, sorry The post below is in reference to your post about your template and I was addressing you and Kathleen Glyde:
Yes, Elsa, very nice! I did want to make one suggestion, if I may? While the template is fine, I find myself having a hard time seeing the fonts against the white background. I had the same problem when using the gray font color. If you need help with the HTML code to change this, do let me know!
Love,
Jade Sinclair
I’m having a really hard time reading the light fonts against the white background, as well. I little darker would be easier on the eyes.
Nice work, though.
I just found the problem and fixed it. It’s amazing how a completely different browser gives another perspective on the same webpage!
Elsa,
If “it’s” in you, the quest for a perfect website is never-ending. Even if you think you’ve reached it … you don’t.
Sometimes it leads you to doing it for money, lol.
