It is quite hard to paint gracefully with watercolour paints, especially when low-quality paints are used and when one is not so familiar with them. In spite of this, I recently felt like having a change from acrylics.
The result was quite different from what I paint when I use acrylics because it had a fuzzy look. However, this fuzziness carried some therapeutic quality. It was a contrast to the ethics that I must uphold in my companionship endeavours: everything has to be clear cut, boundaries must be strictly enforced and personal goals must be kept in mind at all times.
It was relaxing to use a different set of ethics for some time, even though the purpose was only to complete a painting. A little bit of escapism is healthy.
