Anybody who has ever been a companion for some time becomes so used to watching over her shoulder and reading between the lines that it becomes second nature. Sometimes it’s unavoidable to bring this mindset to situations which have nothing to do with companionship.
A few months ago, I had a little accident. Don’t worry, it was not related to my evening activities. It was the type of situation that would have made me angry. When I fell down, everybody who was involved in this unfortunate event wanted to make sure that I was fine. I was surprised, to say the least, because I didn’t expect this reaction at all. My skeptical attitude suddenly vanished.
When I got back on my two feet and went on my way, the only thing I could think about was how everybody had a caring attitude instead of trying to search for a scapegoat, and this greatly lessened the pain I was feeling. What would normally have been a quite frustrating way to start the day turned into something that made me see that there’s still goodness left in this world.
I would have never thought that looking at my bruises could make me feel peaceful.

Bonjour,
Parfois, on veut trop.
Yves
