  • Old Montreal is known for its many quality restaurants. Over the last few years, the area which was known solely as a tourist spot established itself as a hotbed of art galleries.

    A walk on those streets during the summer is one activity I really enjoy. (more…)

    In 1989, there was a controversy around the National Gallery Museum because over $1 million was spent acquiring The Voice of Fire by Barnett Newman. Many of those criticisms had to do with spending public money for a painting that anybody would have been able to create. However, what was first considered frivolous spending turned out to be a good investment over the years because the value of this painting has increased. (more…)

    It is quite hard to paint gracefully with watercolour paints, especially when low-quality paints are used and when one is not so familiar with them. (more…)

    Heinrich Heine once wrote: “Where they burn books, they will, in the end, burn human beings too”.

    When you consider that his books were among those that were burned by the Nazis, it turned out to be quite prophetic. I wonder how many of us say things without being conscious of our phophetic abilities.
